Indianapolis Colts ease past Jacksonville Jaguars

The Indianapolis Colts dominate the second half to clinch a 23-3 win over the Jacksonville Jaguars.

The Indianapolis Colts dominated the second half to cruise to a comfortable 23-3 win over AFC South rivals the Jacksonville Jaguars in the NFL this evening.

Both sides struggled to keep hold of the ball early on as Vontae Davis intercepted a Blake Bortles pass shortly after Andrew Luck had lost a fumble.

The interception was the Jaguars quarterback's 15th of the season, and set Adam Vinatieri up to open the scoring for the Colts.

Josh Scobee quickly levelled for the visitors, despite the Colts getting a hand to his kick, but a couple of big gains from TY Hilton set up Vinatieri for another kick before the break.

Indianapolis increased their advantage early in the second half when Trent Richardson forced his way over for a one-yard rushing score.

The home side seemed to get stronger as the third quarter went on, resulting in a 73-yard touchdown for Hilton, whose wife gave birth to a baby girl just a few hours before kickoff.

An 82-yard punt return from Josh Cribbs quickly got the Colts back into a promising position, but the drive stalled, leaving Vinatieri to kick a field goal.

Bortles tried to give the Jaguars some late hope of a comeback when he spotted Marcedes Lewis on the edge of the endzone, but Davis was there to make sure the tight end could not complete the pass.

The result moves the Colts to a 7-4 record, two wins clear at top of the AFC South, while the Jaguars slip to 1-10.
