Trent Richardson undergoes shoulder surgery

Indianapolis Colts running back Trent Richardson has undergone surgery to his shoulder.

According to NFL.com, the operation was minor and is not expected to hinder the 22-year-old's off-season programme.

Richardson joined the Colts midway through the 2013 NFL season as part of a trade with the Cleveland Browns.

In his 14 games with the AFC South champions, Richardson rushed for 458 yards and three touchdowns.
