Report: Indianapolis Colts agree Hakeem Nicks deal

The Indianapolis Colts agree a one-year deal with former New York Giants wide receiver Hakeem Nicks, according to reports.

The Indianapolis Colts have agreed a deal to sign former New York Giants wide receiver Hakeem Nicks, according to reports.

Nicks is currently a free agent having seen his contract with the Giants run out, and the Colts have moved quickly to sign him to a one-year deal.

The 26-year-old has struggled to build on a promising start to his career over the past two seasons, suffering a number of leg injuries in 2012 and a loss of form in 2013.

The former first-round Draft pick failed to catch a single touchdown pass all last season as the Giants toiled through a disappointing campaign that saw them lose their opening six matches.

He was chosen 29th overall in the 2009 Draft and played a significant role in the Giants' Super Bowl success two years later in 2011.

He averaged 77.5 catches, 1,122 yards and nine touchdowns in 2010 and 2011, but has never managed to complete a full 16-match regular season.
