Houston Texans coach wants to re-sign quarterback Ryan Mallett

Ryan Mallett is wanted back at the Houston Texans, according to coach Bill O'Brien.

Houston Texans coach Bill O'Brien has admitted that he wants to re-sign quarterback Ryan Mallett.

Mallett played three times for the Texans last season, and he impressed during a win against the Cleveland Browns, but he is currently out of contract.

O'Brien described Mallett as a "starter in this league" to reporters, before he said: "I'd like to have him back."

Mallett spent his first three seasons in the NFL with the New England Patriots.
