Houston Texans dominate second half to beat Jacksonville Jaguars

Texans dominate second half to beat Jags

The Houston Texans put in a strong performance in the second half to secure a 27-13 win over the Jacksonville Jaguars this evening.

After the Houston offense stalled on their opening drive, Blake Bortles gave the Jaguars an early lead when he found Allen Hurns open in the endzone.

Arian Foster tried to get the Texans into a touchdown-scoring position with a 50-yard run, but he was tackled short, leaving Randy Bullock to kick a field goal.

The visitors edged ahead briefly in the second quarter when Ryan Fitzpatrick kept the ball himself, giving the quarterback a rare rushing touchdown.

However, Josh Scobee added a pair of field goals before half time to leave Jacksonville ahead going into the third quarter.

After a quiet start to the second half, Alfred Blue put the Texans back in front shortly before the end of the third with a short run.

The visitors were in the endzone again just a few minutes later with Foster getting the carry this time to put the Texans 11 points up.

Bullock put the win beyond doubt late on, kicking another field goal for the visitors to keep them in the race for the AFC South title.

The win moves the Texans on to 7-6, two wins behind the Colts, while the Jaguars sit bottom of the division on 2-11.
