DeVier Posey has said that he felt like he had been shot when he tore his Achilles while playing against the New England Patriots yesterday.

The Houston Texans wide receiver sustained the injury in the fourth quarter of the 41-28 defeat.

The 22-year-old the Texans' website: "I thought somebody in the stands threw a rock or a bottle at me or something. It just felt like somebody shot me. I'd never felt anything like it before.

"[Catching a touchdown pass earlier in the game] lets me know the potential that I had at this level. I just want to come back stronger than ever and be a contributor here.

"I felt like I had to get there as a player mentally, and I don't know, I guess it just took me a little while to get there. When I got there, they gained more confidence in me. Hopefully, I come back and that confidence is still there."

Posey was inactive for the first five games of the regular season, finishing the campaign with six catches for 87 yards.
