Gary Kubiak ready for Houston Texans return

Houston Texans head coach Gary Kubiak believes that he is ready to resume his coaching duties with the team.

Gary Kubiak has said that he is ready to resume his coaching duties with the Houston Texans.

The head coach suffered a mini-stroke during his side's recent loss to the Indianapolis Colts, resulting in defensive coordinator Wade Phillips being placed in interim charge.

Kubiak told reporters: "Yes, it's my understanding that I am [ready]. I think I'll get the OK today. I might be in the press box, but I think I'm good to go. We'll see.

"Whatever I can do to get out there, to be a part of it. But I've had a good week. They've monitored throughout the course of the week and it's something they've talked about that they would like me to do. So I'm OK with that. That's fine.

"You don't feel emotion [in the press box] like you do when you're on the field. You've got to have guys help you with that, talk to you about stuff like that. But it's just something I've got to work through right now."

The Texans face the Oakland Raiders tomorrow.
