Aaron Rodgers doubtful for Dallas Cowboys match

Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers is a doubt for the match against the Dallas Cowboys on Sunday having suffered a setback in his recovery from injury.

Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers has suffered a setback in his return from a broken collarbone and is now a doubt to face the Dallas Cowboys on Sunday.

Rodgers returned to practice last week for the first time since suffering the injury on November 4 but quickly ruled himself out of a return against the Atlanta Falcons after experiencing pain during a full-speed drill.

The 2011 NFL MVP is due to practice again today before undergoing the same test, and he admitted that similar results to the ones from last week would almost certainly see him miss a sixth consecutive game.

"We would need a different results and different responses to be able to get on the field this week," Rodgers told ESPN.

"I shouldn't be having pain doing some of the simple movements. That was kind of my clue that I'm obviously not ready. The way that scan looked and the discomfort I had made me know I wasn't ready.

"I'm going to practice tomorrow and try and do some of things I did last week without pain. See how my body responds to it on Thursday and go from there."

The Packers have struggled without Rodgers, losing three, drawing one and winning one of the five games he has missed so far.
