Nelson agrees contract extension with Packers

The Green Bay Packers have announced that Jordy Nelson has signed a four-year contract extension.

The wide receiver had a year left on his deal with the NFC North side, but the new contract gives him an average annual salary of £9.76m [£5.7m] per season.

The Packers selected the 29-year-old in the second round of the 2008 Draft.

Nelson had 1,314 receiving yards and eight touchdowns for the Packers last season.
