Mike McCarthy: 'Green Bay Packers like being underdogs'

Mike McCarthy has said that the Green Bay Packers respond well to being considered underdogs.

The NFC's third seeds face the second seeds, the San Francisco 49ers, on Saturday in the divisional round of the playoffs.

The Packers' head coach told CSN Bay Area: "Our players like [being underdogs]. I think they respond better when they're disrespected.

"I'm sure that we'll get some of that this week, too, because we weren't successful in the first week. So I think it brings a little more energy."

The 49ers beat the Packers in the first week of the regular NFL season.
