The Detroit Lions announce that center Dominic Raiola has re-signed for the team for another season.

The Detroit Lions have announced that center Dominic Raiola has re-signed for the team for another season.

Raiola is a fan favourite at the Ford Field Stadium, having spent his entire career at the Lions after being drafted in 2001.

The center has been ever-present for Detroit for a number of years, with Raiola starting in all 16 games in each of the last five NFL seasons.

Detroit will start the new NFL season under the guidance of Jim Caldwell, after former coach Jim Schwartz was sacked following a season of 7-9.
