Calvin Johnson not focusing on division race

Detroit Lions wide receiver Calvin Johnson says that the team is not focused on the race for the NFC North.

Calvin Johnson has admitted that he is not focused on the race to win the NFC North.

The Detroit Lions currently top the NFC North with a 5-3 record, but the Chicago Bears and Green Bay Packers have the same win percentage so far this season.

The wide receiver told the team's website: "I don't even try to think about the division race too much, I just try to focus on what we've got at hand. I have to say, though, it's hard not to notice. We've played everybody so far and we're in a three-way tie, I guess.

"Knowing that we could really make something happen with a win this Sunday, take the lead in the division, is great, especially at this point in the season with two division games left.

"We've got to be mentally tight, but physically loose, which means knowing what we've got to do so that we can just go out there and play. We can rely on our fundamentals and the things that we talked about all week."

The Lions travel to the Bears on Sunday.
