Early kickoff for London NFL game

The NFL announces that one of next year's international series fixtures will kick off at lunchtime.

The NFL has announced that one of next year's International Series games will kick off at lunchtime.

The Wembley Stadium games have previously taken place in the evening, in line with the 1pm Eastern Time starts in the States, but next season's meeting between the Detroit Lions and Atlanta Falcons with begin at 1.30pm UK time.

The league's chief marketing officer Mark Waller said: "We are excited about playing three regular season games in the UK for the first time, and debuting a new game time that we expect to be a hit with fans on both sides of the Atlantic and around the world."

The Oakland Raiders will also play the Miami Dolphins in London next year, while the Dallas Cowboys will face the Jacksonville Jaguars.
