Knowshon Moreno aiming to be Denver Broncos' top running back

Denver Broncos running back Knowshon Moreno says that he wants to be the team's number one rusher for the 2013 NFL season.

Knowshon Moreno has said that he wants to be the Denver Broncos' number one running back in the 2013 NFL season.

The 26-year-old returned to practice with the AFC West side yesterday, having missed the team's pre-season loss to the Seattle Seahawks with an injury.

Moreno told the Broncos' website: "That's why we're out here every day working hard, because you do want to be with that number one team, and then if not, find your place on the team somehow. Hopefully I am.

"I mean, running the ball, is instinct. A lot of guys can just do that. It's the other, little things, what can you do? Catch the ball out of the backfield, pass protection. I feel like every year, you want to get better at those things. Not only is it a technical thing, it's a mentality and a physical thing.

"I felt like I was confident the whole season, even though I wasn't out there on Sundays playing. I was confident out here on the practice field, just getting better, working against the ones, defensive guys. I was confident the whole time."

Moreno had the second-highest number of rushing yards for the Broncos in 2012, completing 252 yards and scoring four touchdowns.
