Peyton Manning: 'We need injured players back'

Denver Broncos quarterback Peyton Manning admits that his side need their injured players back in training before they can build up chemistry.

Denver Broncos quarterback Peyton Manning has admitted that his side won't be able to "form an identity" until they have all of their injured players back in action.

The Broncos are currently without a host of usual starters including Derek Wolfe, Champ Bailey, Wes Walker, Louis Vasquez and Stewart Bradley, all of whom suffered injuries during Saturday's 40-10 pre-season loss to the Seattle Seahawks.

Many of those players, along with Knowshon Moreno and Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie, are likely to miss the rest of the warm-up campaign, but Manning will have blindside protector Ryan Clady back in training this week and hopes that that represents a start to the rest of his teammates returning from injury.

"We have to get a few guys that have been injured back on the field," Manning told The AP.

"I know I've talked before about forming your identity and forming the chemistry of this team.

"We haven't had all of our players at full speed. So hopefully that can start a little bit more this week."

The Denver Broncos start the regular season at home to reigning Super Bowl champions the Baltimore Ravens on September 5.
