Champ Bailey hopes Wes Welker retires

Former Denver Broncos star Champ Bailey has insisted that he hopes former teammate Wes Welker does not play on in the NFL.

Welker has suggested that he wants to continue playing next season despite suffering three concussions in nine months.

"I don't want Wes to play for my own personal reasons. I've seen him get concussions. It scares me," Bailey told Fox Sports.

"I think he can still play, but I don't want him to play because of these concussions."

The 10-year veteran, who has also played for Miami Dolphins and New England Patriots, has 890 receptions for 9.822 yards and 50 touchdowns in his career.
