Half-Time Report: Denver Broncos leading New York Jets by 10

Peyton Manning throws two touchdown passes in the second quarter to give the Denver Broncos a 17-7 lead over the struggling New York Jets at half time.

The New York Jets are on course for a fifth straight defeat, having gone into the halfway stage of their NFL clash with the Denver Broncos trailing 17-7 at MetLife Stadium this evening.

Peyton Manning immediately set about getting at the Jets defence, finding Demaryius Thomas with a 54-yard pass on the very first play of the match.

The Broncos were unable to make it into the endzone on their opening possession, but they did come away with points on the board courtesy of a 37-yard Brandon McManus field goal.

It was the Jets that got the first touchdown of the encounter as Geno Smith looped a pass over to Jace Amaro, who managed to get his feet down in time before falling out of bounds.

Rex Ryan's defensive gameplan continued to frustrate the Broncos until the second quarter, when the visitors finally broke through as Manning and Thomas linked up for a one-yard score.

Manning moved ever closer to Brett Favre's record number of touchdown passes in the closing stages of the half as he picked out Julius Thomas for a 22-yard score to open up a 10-point gap at the break.
