Mike Pettine new favourite for Cleveland Browns job?

An NFL insider believes that Buffalo Bills defensive coordinator Mike Pettine is the new frontrunner for the Cleveland Browns head coaching role.

Buffalo Bills defensive coordinator Mike Pettine has emerged as the frontrunner for the Cleveland Browns head coaching job.

The Browns' search for a new boss has been a drawn-out saga, with almost a month now passing since Rob Chudzinski was relieved from his duties.

ESPN NFL insider Adam Schefter revealed via his personal Twitter account: "Cleveland's HC search down to two finalists who will meet with Browns' brass Thursday, per league sources. Bills DC Mike Pettine a favourite."

Pettine is just the latest in a string of potential candidates linked for the role, with franchise owner Jimmy Haslam urging patience from the supporters last week.
