Lewis: "excited" to start for Browns

The Cleveland Browns have confirmed that Thaddeus Lewis will make his first start for the team against the Pittsburgh Steelers tomorrow.

The third-string quarterback comes in after regular starter Brandon Weeden and backup Colt McCoy both sustained shoulder injuries.

The 25-year-old told reporters: "It's exciting. It's a blessing for a childhood dream come true."

Head coach Pat Shurmur added: "He's been preparing himself to play all year even though he wasn't on the active roster. What we expect is that he goes out and plays winning football.

"Now that he's had a season under his belt, he'll come back here in the off-season, much like a lot of quarterbacks in this league that went on to have really good careers."

The Browns beat their AFC North rivals earlier in the season.
