Agent: 'Ahtyba Rubin won't be cut'

Ahtyba Rubin's agent Alan Herman is confident that the Cleveland Browns will not look to offload the player.

The agent of Cleveland Browns defensive lineman Ahtyba Rubin has insisted that the club remain happy to keep the player on the roster next season, despite reports that he might be cut.

Rubin's salary will be roughly £4m for the final year of his contract, but Alan Herman said that the Browns want the player to continue for 2014 on his current deal.

"I can assure Ahtyba is fine," Herman told Cleveland.com. "All the conversations have been positive and everybody's happy to have him on the team.

"I met with executive vice president Sashi Brown at the combine. There will be no modifications to the contract and coach Mike Pettine is excited to have him. Who wouldn't be?"

The defensive end started 14 games for the Browns last season.
