Minnesota Vikings coach Mike Zimmer: 'Domata Peko one of the best'

Minnesota Vikings head coach Mike Zimmer believes that Domata Peko is one of the best defensive tackles in the NFL.

Minnesota Vikings head coach Mike Zimmer has stated his belief that Cincinnati Bengals defensive tackle Domata Peko, whom he coached when he was Bengals defensive coordinator, is one of the best that he has worked with in the position.

Zimmer said that Peko, who has recently signed a new two-year deal with the Bengals, is the ideal player to coach because he always looks to take on advice given.

"Peko is a great player," the Bengals' official website quotes Zimmer as saying. "A fantastic player. I love Peko. His character, his toughness, his leadership. All he cares about is winning.

"He doesn't care about himself. He asks me every single week, 'Coach, how should I play this guy?' Every single week. People don't know it, he's one of the best leaders in the room. Guys go to his house. He had a great year. He was always good for me."

The 2014 season will be Peko's ninth in the NFL.
