JK Schaffer would be "ecstatic" to make an NFL roster

Linebacker JK Schaffer says that he would be ecstatic to be claimed off waivers by another team after being released by the Cincinnati Bengals yesterday.

JK Schaffer has said that he would be "ecstatic" if a team was to claim him off waivers.

The linebacker was released by the Cincinnati Bengals as part of the team's final cuts yesterday evening.

The 23-year-old told Bengals' official website: "If I got claimed, I'd be ecstatic because that means I'd be on a roster. I'd love to be here. I want to be here.

"I'm disappointed, but I know that the people who make these decisions have been making them longer than I've been playing and that you have to respect that."

Schaffer spent last season on the AFC North side's practice squad.
