Report: Bengals not seeking Johnson extension

The Cincinnati Bengals have decided not to offer Michael Johnson a contract extension, according to a report.

The defensive end is under the franchise tag for the 2013 NFL season, but the Cincinnati Enquirer claims that the team are not looking to reach a long-term deal with Johnson before next Monday's deadline.

The 26-year-old made 52 tackles for the Bengals in 2012, including 11.5 sacks.

The Bengals have not reached a multi-year agreement with a franchise-tagged player since 2005.
