Half-Time Report: Cincinnati Bengals ahead in bid to remain unbeaten

The Cincinnati Bengals hold a slender 17-14 lead against the Buffalo Bills at half time.

The Cincinnati Bengals lead 17-14 at half time against the Buffalo Bills as they look to extend their unbeaten start to the NFL season.

The Bills started strongly, with LeSean McCoy picking up 30 yards on the first play of the game which eventually led to backup quarterback EJ Manuel, who replaced Tyrod Taylor for the game, rushing into the endzone from two yards out.

Cincinnati replied straight back with Andy Dalton playing a short pass to running back Jeremy Hill, who ran 15 yards and stretched out to break the goal-line and tie the game up.

Manuel's day would get worse later, though, as Darqueze Dennard picked him off at midfield, although the Bills were not punished as Dalton fumbled a snap that put them out of field goal range.

The Bengals went ahead two drives later as Giovani Bernard showed off how versatile their offence is by scoring a 15-yard touchdown in the second quarter.

Marvin Lewis's men then piled up some extra points just before the half, with Mike Nugent nailing a field goal to make it 17-7.

However, Manuel would get his revenge late in the half as he found Sammy Watkins alone in the endzone to make it a three-point game at the break.
