Jay Cutler keen to stay with Chicago Bears

Chicago Bears quarterback Jay Cutler hopes to remain with the team next season despite being benched for their game against the Detroit Lions.

Jay Cutler has admitted that he would like to stay with the Chicago Bears next season, despite being benched by the team for the penultimate game of the 2014 NFL campaign.

The quarterback leads the league in turnovers, resulting in the NFC North side switching to backup quarterback Jimmy Clausen for this weekend's game against the Detroit Lions.

When asked about the decision at his press conference, the 31-year-old told reporters: "I would like to stay here, I really like it here. I love the guys in the locker room. This is where I'd like to be."

Cutler signed a seven-year contract extension worth $127m (£81.2m) in the off-season.
