Chicago Bears ease past St Louis Rams

Zach Miller and Jeremy Langford score two touchdowns each to guide the Chicago Bears to a 37-13 victory over the St Louis Rams.

Zach Miller and Jeremy Langford scored two touchdowns apiece to help the Chicago Bears to a comfortable 37-13 victory over the St Louis Rams at the Edward Jones Dome this evening.

It was the hosts who made the brighter start to the match, taking the lead after less than three minutes when Todd Gurley ran in for a six-yard score.

Having scored on Monday night, Miller continued his good form with a pair of touchdowns in the opening half, the first of which saw him collect a short Jay Cutler pass before bursting between two tacklers and racing in for an 87-yard score.

Greg Zuerlein and Robbie Gould exchanged field goals at the end of the first quarter before Miller doubled his personal tally for the night with a two-yard reception in the endzone from Cutler's pass.

If that score was not quite as headline-grabbing as his first, there was a return to the spectacular shortly afterwards as Langford sprinted in for an 83-yard touchdown after being found on the left by another short Cutler pass.

It was the first time since 2006 that any team had managed multiple touchdowns of 80 yards or more in a single NFL game, and it took until late in the third quarter for the hosts to chip away at the 14-point deficit when Zuerlein kicked a 38-yard field goal.

Gould responded with two kicks of his own to keep Chicago at arm's length, however, and the win was sealed once and for all with just under five minutes remaining when Langford picked up his second touchdown of the night with a six-yard run.

The result sees the Bears improve to 4-5 for the season, while the Rams now have the same record following back-to-back defeats.
