Chicago Bears snap up Jordan Palmer for quarterback cover

Chicago Bears have reportedly signed free agent quarterback Jordan Palmer to become the team's third choice.

The Bears made the move swiftly following the injury Matt Blanchard picked up in the team's pre-season game on Thursday.

According to the report on NFL.com, JaMarcus Russell was expected to move to the Bears but the signing of Palmer effectively ends his chances.

Palmer played for the Jacksonville Jaguars last season but did not make an appearance.
