Carolina Panthers general manager Dave Gettleman has insisted that he won't make any snap decisions about the future of certain players in the wake of his side's playoff defeat.
No fewer than 21 players are due to become free agents from the current Panthers roster at the end of the season, with eight of them being starters.
However, Gettleman is keen to take his time making the decisions about who to keep and who to let go having already drastically reduced the team's bloated salary.
"The biggest mistake you can make is make emotional decisions. We have to make business decisions, and it takes time," Gettleman told reporters.
"Until then, I'm not going to say who we're signing and who we're not signing and what our strengths are and what our weaknesses are."
The Panthers were knocked out of the playoffs at the divisional round courtesy of a 23-10 defeat at the hands of the San Francisco 49ers.
