Rex Ryan: 'Let's not throw EJ Manuel out after two years'

Ryan: 'Let's not throw EJ out'

Buffalo Bills coach Rex Ryan has insisted that EJ Manuel will still get the chance to prove himself in the team.

Manuel has found it tough going during his first two professional seasons at the Bills, but new coach Ryan has suggested that he will not disregard the player ahead of the next NFL campaign.

"You look at Matt Cassel, obviously he's won in this league," said Ryan, according to The Buffalo News. "He's been a Pro Bowl quarterback, so there's that experience that you have.

"And then EJ. Let's not just throw him out after two years. Aaron Rodgers never took a snap for three years. So let's see where Manuel's going to be."

Manuel was brought in as a high 2013 Draft pick, only to be benched in his second season at the Bills.
