Marrone takes Bills head coach role

Doug Marrone is to be the new head coach of the Buffalo Bills.

The head coach at Syracuse University replaces Chan Gailey, who was fired last week.

In four years at Syracuse, the 48-year-old has led the side to 25 wins in 50 games and two victories in the Pinstripe Bowl.

The former offensive lineman has previously coached at the New Orleans Saints and the New York Jets.

The Bills also interviewed Lovie Smith, Chip Kelly, Ray Horton and Ken Whisenhunt for the job.
