Ed Reed hopes to start discussing a new contract with the Baltimore Ravens in the near future.

Ed Reed has said that he is expecting to start contract negotiations with the Baltimore Ravens in the near future.

The safety is out of contract with the Super Bowl champions, but has said that he wants to remain with the franchise for the 2013 season.

The 34-year-old the NFL AM: "I haven't spoken to anyone. Hopefully that call comes soon.

"I'm a Raven. I plan on being a Raven. I couldn't see me anywhere else right now. If it happens, I'm a football player. I can adapt to any situation."

Reed made four interceptions for the Ravens in 2012.
