Joe Flacco plays down knee injury

Baltimore Ravens quarterback Joe Flacco plays down the knee injury he suffered during Monday's win over the Detroit Lions.

Baltimore Ravens quarterback Joe Flacco has played down the knee injury that he suffered during Monday night's match against the Detroit Lions.

Flacco was hit in his left knee by Lions linebacker DeAndre Levy during the fourth quarter of the game but was able to continue, leading his side upfield and within range of a 61-yard kick that clinched an 18-16 victory for the reigning Super Bowl champions.

The Ravens have reportedly decided against sending Flacco for an MRI scan, and the 28-year-old revealed that he felt fine after getting over the initial shock of the hit.

"It wasn't really bothering me once the initial hit [happened]. I was probably more scared than anything from just what I felt, and also just trying to get a couple of yards out of it," Flacco is quoted as saying by ESPN.

Flacco has not missed a match in his six-year NFL career and is expected to be fit to face the New England Patriots on Sunday.
