Anquan Boldin backs Steve Smith signing

Former Baltimore Ravens wide receiver Anquan Boldin backs his old side's signing of Steve Smith.

San Francisco 49ers wide receiver Anquan Boldin has backed the Baltimore Ravens' signing of fellow wideout Steve Smith and is certain that he will improve his old side's offense.

Boldin said that in playing style the two were very different but they share the desire to win at all costs, which he feels is an important trait in the NFL.

"I think that's a big pick-up for them," the Ravens' official website quotes Boldin as saying. "I know Steve personally. Great player, hard worker, I think he'll bring a tough mentality to the team offensively.

"We're two different players. I think he'll tell you that as well. We bring two completely differently things to the table. I think the thing that both of us do have is we want to win, bottom line, and we'll do whatever it takes to do that."

Smith played for the Carolina Panthers for 13 years before moving to Baltimore.
