Half-Time Report: Pittsburgh Steelers edge ahead of Baltimore Ravens

The winless Baltimore Ravens trail the Pittsburgh Steelers 10-7 at the halfway stage of their meeting at Heinz Field.

The Pittsburgh Steelers have taken a 10-7 lead into the interval against the winless Baltimore Ravens at Heinz Field.

It was the home side who scored on their first drive of the game, but with the Ravens defense cutting off the options to second-string quarterback Michael Vick, who was playing in place of the injured Ben Roethlisberger as the Steelers prepare for four to six weeks without their key man.

Josh Scobee converted with a 45-yard field goal, but a patient drive from the Ravens followed as they claimed the advantage in the opening quarter.

In a drive which lasted over seven minutes and included 12 plays over a 75-yard stretch, it was Michael Campanaro who produced the first touchdown as he held off a challenge before taking the aerial route to force his way into the endzone.

Joe Flacco's success in the first quarter was followed by frustration when his pass was picked off by Ross Cockrell, but the Steelers were unable to retain the momentum as Antonio Brown first failed to take a catch in the endzone, before Vick was sacked by Daryl Smith as the two sides then traded punts.

Vick then clicked into top gear before the half-time interval by leading his side up the field, and Le'Veon Bell took over to dart one way before switching at pace to capitalise on a block from his own quarterback to cross over and hand the Steelers the advantage.

There was still time for the Steelers to extend their lead as the pressure on Flacco allowed the home side to get the ball back once again, and Scobee added a second field goal to put more pressure on the Ravens.
