Falcons beaten by Buccaneers

The Atlanta Falcons ended the regular NFL season with their third loss of the year.

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers beat their NFC South rivals 22-17, with touchdowns from Mike Williams and Doug Martin.

The Falcons had little to play for, having already secured the number one seeding for the NFC and home-field advantage throughout the playoffs.

Despite this, Mike Smith left his starters on the field throughout the game, choosing not to rest players for the post-season.

Cornerback Dunta Robinson left the game in the first quarter after sustaining a head injury.

The Falcons have a bye next week, before facing the lowest remaining seed from the NFC in the divisional playoff round in two weeks' time.
