Atlanta Falcons announce Roddy White contract extension

The Atlanta Falcons have announced that Roddy White has agreed a three-year contract extension with the team.

The wide receiver was heading into the final year of his deal with the NFC South side, but is now contracted with the team until the end of the 2017 season.

The new deal is worth $30m (£17.6m) with escalators, giving the 32-year-old an annual salary of just under $11m (£6.5m).

White missed three games through injury last season, but still had 711 receiving yards and three touchdowns for the team.
