Sam Baker expected to miss NFL season with torn patella tendon

Atlanta Falcons offensive tackle Sam Baker could miss the entire NFL season through injury having torn a patella tendon in a pre-season fixture.

Atlanta Falcons offensive tackle Sam Baker is expected to miss the entire NFL season with what is being reported as a torn patella tendon.

Baker had been at the centre of Atlanta's plans, with the veteran providing a balance to the youthfulness of potential right tackle Jake Matthews.

However, NFL Insider Ian Rapport has suggested that, having been carted off during a pre-season fixture in Houston, Baker will now miss the 2014-2015 campaign.

The tackle had only just made his return from knee trouble, which saw him play only four games last season.
