Ellington stars as Cardinals control Falcons

Arizona Cardinals rookie Andre Ellington enjoyed a night to remember in Glendale this evening, with his 80-yard touchdown the highlight of a 27-13 win over the Atlanta Falcons.

Ellington's superb solo run came in the middle of a second-quarter effort that ultimately proved decisive for Arizona, scoring 21 unanswered points to take control of a hard-fought clash.

Cardinals quarterback Carlson Palmer picked out Larry Fitzgerald in the endzone to get the ball rolling, before Ellington's break into space saw the youngster drive a full 80 yards to claim a game-changing score.

Palmer consolidated their advantage by arrowing into the corner for Michael Floyd to score late in the first half, building an advantage Atlanta never looked like challenging.

The Falcons did briefly show signs of resistance as Matt Ryan picked out Drew Davis late in the fourth quarter, but Arizona stayed composed late on to comfortably claim their fourth win of the season.
