Sir Trevor McDonald will host a special edition of Countdown on Channel 4's Black To Front day in September.

Sir Trevor McDonald is to host a special one-off edition of Countdown as part of Channel 4's Black To Front day of programming.

On September 10, every programme in the C4 schedule will feature black talent on and off screen - including the network's longest-running programme.

Joining McDonald on the special Countdown will be the poet Lemn Sissay in Dictionary Corner, Anne-Marie Imafidon in the Rachel Riley role and special guest Marverine Cole.

"I am proud and delighted to be presenting Countdown on this special day," said McDonald. "I have always enjoyed watching Countdown, a show that has been around for almost as long as I have!"

Channel 4 is also bringing back The Big Breakfast for one day only with Mo Gilligan and AJ Odudu hosting.
