Netflix announces That '90s Show, a spinoff of That '70s Show due for release in 2022.

Netflix has announced details of a new '90s-set spinoff of comedy That '70s Show for release in 2022.

The original show - about a group of teenagers growing up in the 1970s - aired from 1998 to 2006 and featured the likes of Ashton Kutcher, Mila Kunis, Topher Grace and Wilmer Valderrama among the regular cast.

That '90s Show will centre around Eric and Donna's daughter Leia visiting her grandparents Kitty and Red - played by returning regular cast members Debra Jo Rupp and Kurtwood Smith - in Point Place.

In a show description, Netflix said: "Hello, Wisconsin! It's 1995 and Leia Forman, daughter of Eric and Donna, is visiting her grandparents for the summer where she bonds with a new generation of Point Place kids under the watchful eye of Kitty and the stern glare of Red.

"Sex, drugs and rock 'n roll never dies, it just changes clothes."

The first season is for an order of 10 episodes and is expected to be released next year.
