Channel 4 orders a new crime comedy written by Murder In Successville's Tom Davis.

Channel 4 has commissioned a new crime comedy series from Murder In Successville's Tom Davis.

Called The Curse, the show is set in 1980s London and follows a group of hapless criminals who attempt to pull off one of the biggest gold heists in history.

Davis will write and star in the comedy, appearing alongside a trio from People Just Do Nothing - Steve Stamp, Allan Mustafa and Hugo Chegwin.

"It's been such a treat to see these mega comedy talents collide with The Curse," said Fiona McDermott, C4's head of comedy. "As gripping as it is daft, we're thrilled to have such an ambitiously funny show from these brilliant creatives coming to Channel 4."

Stamp said: "I've always wanted a mullet so really this is just an excuse to do that. But also an absolute privilege to work with such a talented group of people and to be making something with this level of scale and ambition."

The Curse, which has been given an order of six 30-minute episodes, begins filming next week.
