Drag Race, All Stars get new season pickups

VH-1 announces that RuPaul's Drag Race and RuPaul's Drag Race All Stars will both return for new seasons in 2021.

VH-1 has confirmed that both RuPaul's Drag Race and RuPaul's Drag Race All Stars have been renewed for new seasons to air in 2021.

Both announcements come as no surprise, with the main series having completed casting for its 13th season in January ahead of an expected shoot this autumn.

Filming remains up in the air due to the coronavirus pandemic, however, with no word yet on what measures the show might take to get production underway on both the main series and the sixth season of All Stars.

Announcing the renewals, VH-1 also confirmed that the spinoff series Untucked will also return for both shows.

"Drag queens have been on the frontlines of many challenging times in our history," said RuPaul.

"RuPaul's Drag Race 13, All Stars 6 and new seasons of Untucked will offer more opportunities for our queens to rise to the occasion and spread the love."

News of the renewals came just hours before the tragic announcement of the death of former contestant Chi Chi DeVayne at the age of 34.
