Courtney Act denies involvement in Drag Race Australia

Courtney Act insists that she will not be taking part in the upcoming antipodean version of RuPaul's Drag Race.

Courtney Act has denied reports that she will be part of the judging lineup on the upcoming antipodean version of RuPaul's Drag Race.

The latest spinoff is due to begin filming in New Zealand later this month and will feature a lineup of Aussie and Kiwi queens competing to be crowned the first Drag Race Down Under superstar.

Initial reporting of the show linked Courtney Act with a role either as a host or judge, but it has since emerged that both RuPaul and Michelle Visage are currently quarantining in New Zealand in order to play a full part in the series.

Speaking from Sydney on Friday's The Project, Courtney - real name Shane Jenek - said: "Everyone's trying it, but I promise you I have nothing to do with Drag Race, and I'll tell you why.

"I was reading that RuPaul and 16 people have landed in Auckland to film Drag Race - so I can assure you that if I were involved, that I would not fly to Sydney to quarantine for two weeks, only to fly to Auckland to quarantine for two weeks."

The new spinoff has still not been officially announced, with filming expected to start in less than a fortnight.
