Paul Mescal invited to "singalong" by Andrew Lloyd Webber

Legendary composer Andrew Lloyd Webber invites Normal People star Paul Mescal to a "singalong".

Normal People star Paul Mescal has been approached by Andrew Lloyd Webber to participate in a "singalong".

The 24-year-old has been catapulted into the limelight over the last few weeks following the release of the Irish teen drama, which has been viewed more than 28 million times in the UK alone.

A clip of Mescal performing in a school production of Lloyd Webber's musical The Phantom of the Opera has surfaced online, prompting the composer to get in touch with him via Twitter.

"Hi Paul! I heard that you are part of the Phantom alumni, fancy a singalong?" he wrote, with a delighted Mescal replying: "OMG is this a real thing"

The 72-year-old confirmed: "Yes, would love to chat and maybe have a singalong?!"
