Roman Kemp 'working on documentary about male suicide'

Roman Kemp is reportedly working on a one-off documentary about male suicide for the BBC following the death of his best friend last year.

TV and radio presenter Roman Kemp is reportedly working on a documentary for the BBC about the taboo subject of male suicide.

The one-off piece will see the 27-year-old pay tribute to his best friend and Capital Radio colleague Joe Lyons, who died last year.

According to The Sun, as part of the programme Kemp will "talk intimately about the days following the awful news and also investigate why male suicide rates are so high and what can be done to help others who are struggling".

A source told the newspaper: "With so many people isolating due to the pandemic and feeling detached from their normal lives and friends, it was felt this message of support could not come at a better time and will hopefully make a difference to those who may well be experiencing similar feelings."

The programme is expected to be released in the coming months.
