Prince Harry bags Thomas The Tank Engine role

Prince Harry takes a role in Thomas The Tank Engine to mark the iconic kids' show's 75th anniversary.

Prince Harry is to appear in a special programme marking the 75th anniversary of children's classic Thomas The Tank Engine.

The 35-year-old filmed the part in January, just before he and wife Meghan Markle decided to step down as senior members of the Royal Family.

The special episode, 'Thomas and the Royal Engine', sees Thomas travel with Sir Topham Hatt to meet Harry's grandmother The Queen.

Talking about his role, the Duke of Sussex said: "Thomas the Tank Engine has been a comforting, familiar face to so many families over the last 75 years - entertaining, educating and inspiring children on important issues through exciting stories and characters.

"I certainly have fond memories of growing up with Thomas & Friends and being transported to new places through his adventures.

"I am very proud to have been asked to take part in this special episode. I wish Thomas & Friends a very happy anniversary."

Harry is currently thought to be isolating with his wife and son Archie in California amid the coronavirus pandemic.
