Norman Reedus to star in 'Walking Dead' spinoff movie?

Norman Reedus's Daryl Dixon will reportedly be the focus of a standalone The Walking Dead movie.

The Walking Dead producers are reportedly planning a standalone spinoff movie centred on Norman Reedus's character Daryl Dixon.

Daryl has become the lead character in the show since Rick Grimes (Andrew Lincoln) departed in season nine and is a firm fan favourite.

Last year it was confirmed that Lincoln would reprise his role for a standalone Rick movie and according to We Got This Covered, Daryl is heading for a similar treatment.

The publication reported: "As far as the chronology of the Walking Dead-verse is concerned, Daryl's standalone film will presumably take place after either season 11 or 12, and will see him searching for former series protagonist Rick Grimes while throwing in some flashbacks with his volatile brother Merle."

The show's 10th season was forced to go on hiatus early this month - with just the season finale left to air - due to the coronavirus pandemic.
