Union J reunite for one-off gig
Union J announce plans for a one-off concert and a new documentary this May.

The original lineup of Union J have announced plans to reunite for a one-off gig and documentary this May.

The four-piece boyband - JJ Hamblett, Jaymi Hensley, George Shelley and Josh Cuthbert - formed on The X Factor in 2012 but Shelley left after four years and a temporary replacement was brought in.

Cuthbert then left in 2018, leaving Hamblett and Hensley to carry on as a duo for another year before calling it quits.

The foursome reconnected over lockdown, however, and will play a comeback gig at the London Palladium on May 28.

"All offers were off the table for two years, so the relationships started blossoming again between all of us as a four," Hensley told The Sun.

"I went to George first, then I went to Josh and then I rang JJ and said, 'Well you haven't got any choice, you're still in the contract'."

Union J are the latest boyband to announce a comeback in recent months, following in the footsteps of JLS and The Wanted.
