Steps announce new album, 14-date tour, Sia-penned single

Steps announce plans for new music and a 14-date UK tour in 2021.

Steps have announced an epic comeback that includes new music and a 14-date tour for next year.

The five-piece last reunited in 2017 to mark their 20th anniversary and have been working on plans for a fresh comeback during the coronavirus lockdown.

The new album, What The Future Holds, is out on November 27 and promises to showcase "the big melodic choruses of their top-tier bangers but also brings back the harmony-laden ballads and some atmospheric mid-tempos".

The album takes its name from the lead single, which was written by Sia and will become available for download immediately after its premiere on Radio 2 tomorrow morning.

The accompanying tour will begin on November 2, 2021 in Sheffield and take in dates including Aberdeen, Glasgow, Brighton and Cardiff, finishing up in Bournemouth on December 1, 2021.

In a joint statement, the band said: "We will never forget the past with Steps, it's what made us, but we've got to look to the future too.

"We were so thrilled that the last album was a success and it gave us a new lease of life.

"We are so excited for everyone to hear this new album and to come join us on tour."

The group will be supported on their tour by Sophie Ellis-Bextor.
