The Nutty Professor set for fresh reboot

Classic comedy film The Nutty Professor is to be remade for a second time.

Classic comedy The Nutty Professor is to be remade by the company behind the upcoming Scream 5 movie.

The film, about a shy professor who develops an outgoing alter-ego after drinking an experimental potion, was first released in 1963 with Jerry Lewis in the lead role.

A remake with Eddie Murphy was released in 1996 and was a huge box office hit, prompting the 2000 sequel Nutty Professor II: Meet The Klumps.

According to Deadline, production company Project X has now acquired the rights to the original movie and is planning a remake.

As of yet the film has no director or actors attached.
